Erin was my roommate sophomore year in the dorms...she introduced me to the Gilmore Girls. We have all been best friends ever since.

My name is Jackie Witkowski.  I am currently a journalism student at the University of Iowa.  I also hold a degree in the Biological Sciences from the same, fine institution.  After spending a year working in an office, I decided I preferred the “Arts” side of Liberal Arts & Sciences and applied for readmission.  I moved back to Iowa City and got a job at the local Barnes & Noble while I waited for my acceptance to the J-school.  It took three applications, but they finally gave me a shot!  

I decided to keep my job at the bookstore because, frankly, once you have purchased books at a discount, you can never go back.  So, I go to school part time and spend the rest of my life, okay, only 40 hours a week, in the Children’s section of the bookstore.  It can be crazy, but it’s fun.  Plus, I would never be able to afford all the books mentioned on Gilmore Girls without that discount.
